Honoring past and present members of the Armed Forces
Applications
Our organization invites you to apply to have past and present members of the Armed Forces honored with a Shawano's Hometown Heroes Banner. Each banner will display the hero’s name, branch of service, and a military photo or logo. Banners will be displayed on Main Street in Shawano, beginning at the Elizabeth Street intersection and heading south. The banners will be displayed from Memorial Day to around Veterans Day in alphabetical order.
Limited space is available.

Our Mission
Our mission is to honor and support our military veterans by creating and displaying banners that recognize their service and sacrifice. We strive to promote patriotism and community involvement by providing a visible reminder of the dedication and commitments of our veterans.
Veteran's Day Program
Banners will be removed around Veterans Day to participate in a Veterans Day program. During the ceremony, we invite the banner recipient and their family to receive the banner. If you wish to rehang your banner for the next season, we will provide further instructions during that time.
